Biografie
William Notman, Photographer to Her Majesty, independently began his first studio in Montreal in 1856 under the name 'William Notman'. In 1877, he partnered this studio with Henry Sandham, and the name changed to 'Notman & Sandham' until that dissolved and he partnered with his son in 1882. He also operated studios in Toronto, Boston and Halifax.

In 1882 William Notman partnered with his son and the photography studio was re-named "William Notman and Son" (often written Wm Notman and Son), which it remained until the studio closed in 1993.

Item is a light brown card with photograph of a man from the shoulders up, on a plain background. Embossed into the card at the base is the studio mark for William Notman and Son at 14 Phillips Square, Montreal. On verso, the name Guy Bulloch with the date 1900s is handwritten in blue ink.
