Dean of Business correspondence

Series consists of correspondence created and collected by the person in the role of Dean of Business, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Dean of the Ted Rogers School of Management.
Series is broken down by dean and include files from Charles S. Temple (1951-1970), D. A. Sutton (1980-1985), Timothy Reid (1985-1989), Sarwan Sahota (acting, 1989), Bonnie Patterson (1990-1995), Stan Heath (1996-1999), Tom Knowlton (2000-2005), and Dr. Ken Jones (2005-2013).

Student Awards

Series consists of materials from a variety of student awards ceremonies held for the Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM).

CCPE & APEO Accreditation

These proposals, courses of study, proposed courses and detailed course outlines were produced for submission to the C.C.P.E. and A.P.E.O. Accreditation Committee for approval. Each outline usually contains the instructor's professional resume, a brief course outline of required readings and topics covered, instructor's notes, laboratory and problem exercises, and test and final examinations.
Included in this series are 22 course outlines and 1 accreditation proposal.

Course Calendars and class schedules

File contains copies of the Evening Studies calendars, Extension Course calendars, and Continuing Education course calendars and class schedule bulletins. The final print version of the course calendar was for the 2018-2019 school year. The Chang School plans to continue publishing the class schedule bulletins.

Provincial Home Support Services and Ryerson Continuing Education Division

Series contains information on the collaboration between Ryerson's Continuing Education division and Provinicial (later renamed Ontario) Home Support Services.
What was initially planned as a single conference evolved into a series of conferences. This material has been kept under one series but has been separated by year or subject matter.

Women and Politics conference materials

File contains materials relating to the Women and Politics conference which was co-sponsered by Ryerson's Continuing Education division. Materials include conference preparation materials including program drafts, correspondence, grant applications, meeting minutes, and newspaper clippings. Eaton School of Retailing

Series contains planning records and published materials relating to the creation of the Eaton School of Retailing's partnership with Ryerson.
The Eaton School of Retailing was a corporate entity with the T. Eaton Company Ltd and delivered corporate education within the company. The partnership with Ryerson was away for them to develop and deliver university level courses to Eaton's employees. The first phase of the program was certificates in Retail and Services Management I and II.

Department of National Defence and Ryerson's Continuing Education Division: Certificate in Public Affairs

First offered in 1992, the certificate program was designed by the Faculty of Applied Arts (RTA, Journalism, Business and Technical Communication) and the Continuing Education Division. It was created at the request of the Department of National Defence.
Series contains correspondence, working papers, meeting minutes, copies of the proposals, along with other documents created in the organization and creation of a Public Affairs certificate program for members of the Department of National Defence.

Ophthalmic Dispensing program

The Ophthalmic Dispensing program was designed in conjunction with the Board of Ophthalmic Dispensers of Ontario, which was the provincial licensing and regulatory body. The program consisted of ten courses, taken as either evening or correspondence classes. The program was intended to be taken over a three-year span.

Administrative and Internal Records

This series contains files relating to the inner workings and administration of the Department of English. The series is divided into two sub-series, the first and larger sub-series covers documents and reports regarding the management and internal communications of the department, and the second sub-series contains information pertaining to the faculty who staffed the English department.

Academic Documents

This series contains course outlines, syllabi, and course examination material for various Department of English classes from the years of 1946 to 2010. Information regarding what courses would teach, what texts they would require students to read, and various administrative information, such as how long a class would run for, are contained in this series of documents.

Posters and Promotional Material

This series contains files regarding posters and other promotional material produced by the Department of English. Topics include lecture series, information nights about the department and the English program, and various workshops.

Published Material

This series of files contains published works and materials produced by the faculty and students of Ryerson University from 1970 onward. The bulk of the series are poetry collections and some short stories.

Ryerson Positive Space

The file consists of textual announcements, graphic posters, and bracelets relating to campaign launches and educational sessions.

Series consists of editions of the Ryersonia yearbook - published 1950-1969, with a special edition in 1998.

Maple Leaf Gardens, Limited

FORUM newsletter, 1994-2009

Over the years, the FORUM newsletter was published weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-weekly, and, finally only six issues per year. Topics included Ryerson news, staffing updates, and staff and alumni notices. The publishing schedule was changed in 2006 to a calendar year from the academic year. The October 2005 issue was the last hard copy and a solely digital format was was released with the next print in 2006. The FORUM was discontinued in 2009 and replaced with a new newsletter, Ryerson Today, on October 19, 2009 which was distributed via email notification and a link to the webpage. In May 2022 the name changed to "Toronto Met Today" with the change in name of the university.

Office of University Advancement

Homecoming and alumni weekend materials

Series contains promotional records, objects, and other materials created for Homecoming and Alumni Weekend. Included are memory books created for the 50th Anniversary class years. In 2007 the name changed from Homecoming to Alumni Weekend.
The series is divided into files by year.

Alumni achievement awards and wall of recognition

On the occasion of its 50th Anniversary in 1998, Ryerson Polytechnic University established the Ryerson Alumni Achievement Awards to pay tribute to alumni who have excelled in their respective careers and who have made a significant contribution to their profession, their community and their country.

Fundraising Campaigns

This Series contains correspondence and promotional materials related to the "Invest in Futures" fundraising campaign launched Thursday, May 13, 2004, Ron Besse as campaign chair, held at 43 Gerrard St E. Officially closed June 30, 2006, with continued contributions up to December 2008.

Convocation records

Records consists of convocation programmes, transcripts of speeches/addresses, press kits, photographs, invitations, cassette tapes, some videocassettes and related documentation.

In December 1996, the name of the Office of Development, Alumni and Community Relations was changed to University Advancement Office and, thus, responsible for Convocation and ceremonies until 2008 with the creation of a separate department, the Office of Convocation and Awards.

Photographic assignments

Series contains images taken by University Advancement photographers. They cover a wide range of subjects including campus events, staff and faculty portraits, donor receptions and building demolition and construction. A majority of the images were taken for the purpose of publication in the University Advancement publication "The Forum".

University Advancement photographic assignments - digital

Series consists of two subseries. One contains annual photograph discs created by the University Photographer for the Ryerson Archives. The second contains an archive of CDs, DVDs, and zip drives used by University Advancement to store photographs taken by the University photographers.

What's Happening Around Ryerson / On Campus This Week

This circular provided the Ryerson Community with information on day-to-day events taking place on Campus. From 1971 to April 1977, the publication was called "What's Happening Around Ryerson" with the name changing to "On Campus This Week" on the September 2, 1977 issue. "On Campus This Week" was last published in 1986. As an alternative, a number of departments agreed to pool their resources to sponsor, on a non-profit basis, a weekly full-page listing of campus events in the student newspaper, THE EYEOPENER.

Convocation and Awards Nights records

Records consists of convocation programmes, transcripts of speeches/addresses, photographs, invitations, cassette/reel-to-reel tapes, correspondence and miscellaneous related documentation.

During the 1950s, convocation preparations were arranged by a Convocation Committee. Academic Council assumed responsibility in the 1960s until early 1980s, when the Information Services Department took over.

November 1986 the Department of Community Relations was established, incorporating Information Services, thereby assuming the responsibility of Convocation arrangements until 1995 when University Advancement took over until 2007. In 2008 the Office of Convocation and Awards assumed responsibility.

Annual reports and financial statements

Files contain copies of the annual report and audited financial statements for Ryerson Polytechnical Institute.
The annual reports are distributed across three record groups - dependent on which department was responsible for their printing. Their organization is as follows:

After 1996 the university stopped publishing an annual report in this format.

FORUM newsletter, 1975-1987

Series consists of copies of the FORUM newsletter published by the Office of Information Services. They were published on the calendar year, each new volume starting in September. Topics included Ryerson-specific news, staffing updates and staff and alumni notices. This series contains Volume's 1 - 12.
The final hard copy edition of the FORUM was published October 2005 - moving to an electronic format with its next issue. It was replaced by an online email newsletter Ryerson Today, on October 19, 2009.

Unsorted material

Series consists of materials transferred in the Archives holdings in the 1970s and left in piles on shelving units. No original order was apparent. After viewing materials it was discerned that the best course of action was to sort material by subject.

News Bulletin

Series contains 6 volumes of the School's News Bulletin published by the Information Services Department. Newsletter contains stories about campus events, people, and school business.
The series has been divided into 6 files based on volume.

Ryerson scenes and events photographs

Series consists of photographs created by/for the office of Information Services showing various events, programs, campus, and buildings on campus. Also included are scripts to slide shows the images were used in.

Reference photograph files

Series contains photgraphs taken and maintained by the Department of Information Services prior to their amalgamation with Community Relations. The photographs were used for publications including FORUM, THE ANNUAL REPORT, THE RYERSON RAMBLER, TECHNIKOS and THE ADMISSIONS BULLETIN during the period 1967 to 1986, covering such subjects as Convocation, Fashion, Homecoming, Individuals, Parades/Picnics, RTA, Visitors and the Winter Carnival. Guidance Counsellor Information files

Series contains records created by the Admissions Office for Guidance Counselors and Guidance professionals for the purpose of promoting Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, Ryerson Polytechnical University and Ryerson University to secondary school students.

Admissions Student Nominal Rolls

The series contains copies of student nominal rolls with each student's respective program RIT enrolment and/or secondary school or place of residence prior to admission to Ryerson Institute of Technology during the years of 1952, 1954, 1956, 1961 and 1962.
