Cream card with photograph of an engraving of an old woman in a rocking chair holding her hand through a hole in a pair of trousers while a young boy, about 5 years old, leans against the chair in only his shirt and waistcoat. There is a small white dog at his feet, and the angle of the window gives the appearance of an attic. At the bottome edge, in purple letterpress, "HIS ONLY PAIR." On verso, handwritten in pencil, "3-".
Magic lantern used to project this type of circular slide was of German design, and was available c.1850. Magic lantern slides were popular in the 1890s. This design was for domestic use, and the slide was illuminated by an oil lamp,and projected a circular image. The slides, often hand coloured, were often mounted six to a small disk. This one in particular has eight hand coloured images. It tells the story of the pied piper or the rat-catcher of Hameln, a town in Germany, who comes into a small village and leads the rats away, only to return when he receives no payment, to lead the children away. The title is written on the slide in three languages, English, French (Le preneur de rats de Hameln) and German (Der rattenfanger v. Hameln)

There are landscapes and pictures of the family and children participating in various activities, including fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, and other cottage types of activities. There are also images taken in a photobooth, and photos of the family dog.

File consists of an album with the words "scrapbook" written on the front in red and blue letters. On the cover there is a picture of a boy sitting at a desk with a crown counting coins. In the room around him are pictures of a knight fighting an ogre; a picture of two hunters, and a fireplace with a clock on the mantle beside a mounted horse figurine, some books. and a calendar. The pages are plain off-white in colour and have articles and photographs glued in, along with many loose clippings and photos spread throughout.
Scrapbook contains images and newspaper articles about the Lambert and Fellows families, including wedding and death announcements.
Accompanying loose materials include: postcards, photoengravure reproduction, pen and ink drawing, photographs - mounted and unmounted, newspaper articles.
