Canterbury cathedral and girl

Two pairs of photographs originally grouped together. Two photographs are of a girl seated on a miniature chaise longue in front of garden wall, and two photographs are of the interior of Canterbury Cathedral. The cathedral photographs have both been written on verso in pencil "Canterbury Cathedral," and individually in ink, "Presbytery and Archbishop Bourchier's Tomb" and "Effigy of the Black Prince from his Tomb."

A card identifies the lenses by name and number in German, French, and English: "These Proxars are so adjusted to each other that, when attached to objectives having exactly the same foci, they again give uniform foci and thus also bring about the same alterations in extension for focusing to various distances."

Item consists of a read leather album. The album has the words "Where Rolls the Oregon" etched onto the front cover. Includes several family photographs and group portraits as well as images of locations in the United Kingdom such as Pass of Killiecrankie (Scotland), Queenstown Harbour (Ireland), Balmoral castle (UK). Other subjects of photographs include people on horse-drawn carriages, in military settings, playing sports, on farms, weddings, and chronological baby photos at the end of the album.

Item consists of a small album with postcards of Nuremberg. Album has a red cover, and the pages inside are white with accordion binding. .Contains panorama views and cityscapes, as well as architecture photographs of churches, buildings and landmarks.

Agnes Osberg album

A leather bound cabinet card album with a metal adornment on the front cover, designed like a shield and engraved with the words "Minne" and "…at" along with the owner's name: "Agnes Osberg". Inside front page is printed in German "Von dankbaren Elewen" and Swedish "Nääs 19/12 1892." Many sitters are identified and portrait photographers whose card texts are visible areidentified as Swedish and American.

Lambert and Fellows album

File consists of an album with the words "scrapbook" written on the front in red and blue letters. On the cover there is a picture of a boy sitting at a desk with a crown counting coins. In the room around him are pictures of a knight fighting an ogre; a picture of two hunters, and a fireplace with a clock on the mantle beside a mounted horse figurine, some books. and a calendar. The pages are plain off-white in colour and have articles and photographs glued in, along with many loose clippings and photos spread throughout.
Scrapbook contains images and newspaper articles about the Lambert and Fellows families, including wedding and death announcements.

Accompanying loose materials include: postcards, photoengravure reproduction, pen and ink drawing, photographs - mounted and unmounted, newspaper articles.

Dates on pages and accompanying loose materials include: 1885, 1889, 1894, 1904, 1907, 1908, 1911, 1918.

England album

Item consists of brown, textured, hardcover, leather-bound album with decorative flower detailing on cover. Leather has worn off the spine. Pages are an off-white colour with decorative gold embossing and illustrative floral detail. Photographs slide in between two pieces of card that make each page and hold them in place.

Photographs are mostly portraits of one or two figures taken in studios across England, primarily around London, in towns and cities that include Brighton, Luton, Woburn, Tavistock, Bedford, Northampton and London. One photograph was made at J. C. Waler & Co. at 147 Yonge Street, Toronto.The address written inside the cover of the album is 61 High Street Ridgmont Bedford. Some notes and captions are written under and on the back of a few of the photographs in pencil and black ink. Inserted in the front page of the album are two loose pages with personal notes dated 1847 and 1881.

Malta, Italy, China album

Green fabric-coated album with some decorative linear gold embossing. Spine torn along edges. First and last page have a decorative leaf pattern. Notations are handwritten in black ink. Photographs are mounted in between two layers, seemingly embedded into album's pages.
Photographs are of a family traveling through Malta, Italy, Portugal and China, taken at sites such as Pompei, Mount Vesuvius, the Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace, as well as some photographs of the railway through a mountainous countryside.
Some photographs include images of the crew and family aboard the S.S. Somali, a British passenger and cargo steam ship that travelled between England and Hong Kong, stopping at locations such as Italy and India to drop off or pick up cargo. The ship was built in 1930 and was destroyed by a bomb while being towed on March 27, 1941. The shipwreck still remains upright off the coast of the United Kingdom, on the East side of Glasgow off the shore of North Sunderland.

Assuming dates of album are between 1930-1941, based on S.S. Somali's active days, King of Italy pictured would be King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy and his Queen, Elena of Montenegro.

H.M.S. Superb Voyage album

Item is a 35 mm wooden box camera designed and built by the UK Manufacturer Alfred Darling. The model can be identified as a Darling product by the presence of the iconic AD logo engraved on multiple camera features, including the footage counter and the interior wooden panels.
The English-pattern cinema uses a hand-wound two-sprocket claw mechanism to advance the film and a variable speed shutter that allows for continuous or single-frame shots. This item also has a glass pressure plate, which allows the user to focus directly on the film by looking through the rear focus tube. The wooden mahogany body has a leather strap on top and a tripod mount at the base of the device. This model has two internal stacked 300’ wooden box magazines. Other technical features include a footage counter and a level on top of the camera that allowed for a balanced shot when using a tripod.

Item consists of a Kodak Retina I, model 126. This camera is a 35mm, folding camera, and was one of the first models, along with similar model 119, of the Retina I to be introduced my Kodak AG, the German branch of the Eastman Kodak Company. The 126 model differs from the 119 only by it's chrome trim. The Retinas were the first cameras introduced by Kodak to use 35mm format film. The item has a Kodak Anastigmat 1:3.5 f=5cms lens and a Kodak Compur-Rapid leaf shutter with speeds 1-1/500 + T and B.

Agfa Karat 36

Item consists of an early model of the Agfa Karat 36 35mm camera, also known as the Karomat 36. It has a Compur-Rapid 1-500 shutter, a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon 1:2/50mm lens, and an optical viewfinder with superimposed rangefinder. It was the first of the Agfa series of Karat cameras to move from Rapid cassettes to 35mm cartridge film. It strongly resembles the Karat 12, but features an accessory shoe, a rotating time exposure lock, and a film rewind knob instead of a depth of field dial.

Item consists of a Kodak Retina IIa, type 016. It is a later model, with a Kodak Synchro-Compur shutter and a Retina-Xenon f:2/50mm Schneider-Kreuznach lens. It also features a range finder. As opposed to the film advanced knob on top of the camera and depth-of-field scale wheel found on the bottom of the Retina IIa type 150, this camera, type 016, has a film advance lever and no depth-of-field scale.

Item consists of a Kodak Retina Ia. It is a folding camera that uses 35mm film and was manufactured by Kodak AG in Germany from 1951-1954. It is a revision of the Kodak Retina I, featuring a rapid winding lever and a film glide roller on the back door. It has an optical viewfinder, no rangefinder, a synchro-compur M-X flash synch, and a Schneider-Kreuznach Retina-Xenar f:3.5/50mm lens. It was later superseded by the Kodak Retina Ib in 1954.

Item is a simple camera for 50 exposures ( 24x24mm ) on regular 35mm film . It was built 1939 t0 1941, the low serial No indicates a small production of this camera , possibly because of the war.
The foldable lever transported the film and cocked the Compur shutter.
The lens is a non exchangeable Zeiss Novar Anastigmat 1:3.5 with a focal length of 35mm. The Viewfinder is a simple Newton finder , it is folded onto the body Focusing by front lens in a simple helical mounting.

Item is a strut-folding 35mm rangefinder camera. To facilitate easy loading of 35mm film, Agfa (and Ansco) introduced a 12 exposure cartridge that required no rewinding of the exposed film. The film was just pushed by a simple claw. Our model has a Solinar lens 3.5, and a compur rapid shutter.

Agfa Karat 3.5

Item is a 35mm camera, using a proprietary 12 exposure film cassette with no moving parts. The sprockets of the camera simply pull the film out and push it into an empty cartridge on the other side. This system with some modifications eventually lead to the design of the Instamatic format. The shutter on or model is a Prontor -S and the lens an Agfa Apotar 1; 3.5 F= 55mm. No rangefinder, simple optical viewfinder. The camera body is a " Strut " design, allowing the front to fold easily.

Item is a 35mm folding camera, the first 35mm model to be produced by the Eastman Kodak Company. The camera was designed by Dr. August Nagel, founder of the Nagel-Werke camera manufacturing company in Stuttgart. Nagel-Werke was purchased by Kodak in 1931. The Retina Type 117 was the first product to be produced by the new acquisition and the first Kodak camera to use the newly developed 35mm film cassette. The model has a Compur Rapid shutter, lens is the SCHNEIDER Xenar 1:3.5 F= 50mm.
