Pages are an off-white colour with decorative gold embossing and illustrative floral detail. Photographs slide in between two pieces of card that make each page and hold them in place.

Imprinted on the red filter metal holder is "Rolleifilter - hellrot, 999283." Imprinted on the front of the brown plastic case is "OMAG" and on the back is "3459, SWITZERLAND."

Brown leather case has a metal snap and is stamped on the front with "Rollei F&H", and on the back with "GERMANY." The small clear glass filter is printed with "Carl Zeiss Jena, Proxar 1, Nr. 585040." The large clear glass lens is printed with "Carl Zeiss Jena, Proxar 1, Nr. 573601." A card identifies the lenses by name and number in German, French, and English: "These Proxars are so adjusted to each other that, when attached to objectives having exactly the same foci, they again give uniform foci and thus also bring about the same alterations in extension for focusing to various distances."

Two pairs of photographs originally grouped together. Two photographs are of a girl seated on a miniature chaise longue in front of garden wall, and two photographs are of the interior of Canterbury Cathedral. The cathedral photographs have both been written on verso in pencil "Canterbury Cathedral," and individually in ink, "Presbytery and Archbishop Bourchier's Tomb" and "Effigy of the Black Prince from his Tomb."

Photograph is a portrait of a man leaning against a chair with his right hand in his pocket. He wears a checked suitjacket and matching waistcoat with plain trousers. There is a thin piece of glassine tissue attached at the top of the card that folds over the front of the card. The tissue has a design lithographed on it with the heraldic badge of the Prince of Wales above the text "TURNER & DRINKWATER/ THE STUDIO ROYAL, HULL./ NO. 8/ REGENT'S TERRACE." On verso, black text printed sideways, "Photographers to Their Royal Highnesses/ The Prince & Princess of Wales,/ Duke of Edinburgh and/ Duke of Cambridge". Handwritten in pencil at the lower left corner, "43825".

All are wearing hats. The backdrop to this studio setting features a landscape. Recto reads: "W. Lees / PHOTOGRAPHER (left) / 23 BATH ST. / PORTOBELLO. (right)" and the verso has "7.00" inscribed with graphite.

Sealed envelope addressed to 'Mrs. A.E. Roe / Boulange Sur Mer / July 1895'. Observed over a light box it appears to contain a pressed flower.
