[Portrait of three children]

Item consists of a cabinet card of three children posed in front of an outdoor backdrop. Two of the children are wearing hats, and one child has small toy horses on front of them. The verso is stamped with the studio logo for Eldridge Stanton, 341 Yonge Street, Toronto.

Floral album

Item consists of a brown and gold album with the text "Floral Album" on the front cover. The pages have painted floral illustrations around the photographs and gold detailing on the edges. It contains portraits of mostly individuals and a few families or group. The images were taking by companies in Stouffville, Montreal and Toronto. Handwritten notes next to most portrait, describing the relationship of the persone photographed ("Flora Powell - cousin, Uncle Dave Wellman - Half brother of 1st family.")

Panorama album

Item consists of a large rectangular album with the word "Photographs" printed on the cover. Album includes photographs of lakes, rivers, farms and landscapes in Ontario and Quebec. The first page of the album is a key to the album with names of each location, such as Trout Lake, Deux Rivieres, James Bay. Some pages have large panoramic images of locations, and others have several smaller photographs on the page.

Photograph of a group of 7 passengers in an early automobile, stopped along Stanley Park drive in front of the "Hollow Tree". This old cedar was a popular spot for group photographs in both cars and horse-drawn carriages. The stamp on the back of the card mount indicates this was taken by an official park photographer: "The Stanley Park Photographers, Head Office, 162 Cordova Street, Vancouver, B.C.". The negative number for ordering more prints is given as 4869a.

File consists of four card mounted photographs, 3 of the same man in various poses and 1 of a woman. All mounted on black card by studios in Montreal. The photographs were found inside the Agnes Osberg album (2009.005.023) with a yellow sticky note that read: Came from the same family But Not this album.

Cream card with blue and pink colour patches highlighting the words "Merry Christmas" and the date "1956". The family's address is printed sideways up the front of the card, and the parent's names are given at the bottom. Inside, the phrase "and the children....." is added to the inside left, while a black and white photograph of 6 children is pasted onto the right.

Item is a grey and green mottled-pattern bi-fold card with, art nouveu floral design embossed into the upper left corner of the front flap. The image is very dark, causing the rest of her body to be obscured. On the inside of the left flap, a handwritten note gives her name and the date.

The back of the photograph is stamped "HALKSWORTH WHEELER/ 109A SANDGATE ROAD./ FOLKESTONE". This is handwritten on the front of the photograph, and the date August 1917 is written on the card.

Included in the box is a plastic palette and an instruction booklet with colour stamps separated by vellum sheets labeled: "LIGHT YELLOW, FOLIAGE GREEN, DEEP YELLOW, DEEP GREEN, FLESH TINT, LIGHT BLUE, BRILLIANT RED, DARK BLUE, SCARLET, VIOLET, WARM BROWN, STONE GRAY." There is an empty tray for brushes.

Two Cartes de visites are printed on verso with "J.F. Rowe. A fifth card is identified as a "Gem" photo card, printed on verso with "R.W. Knorr" and an advertisement for the tiny Gem format.

Mercury deluxe album snapshots

This yellow paper photo album, "Mercury deluxe Album Snapshots", is printed in blue, and held by a blue plastic binder. The photographs show examples of early-20th century residential architecture, and are captioned "Santos (Brasil) 1950 new suburb" and "2nd house we lived in, in Cuba."

Barn raising, boating, and other outside pursuits

These photographs share few similarities in image content besides all being taken out-of-doors. Four images show a barn raising, and sixteen images are of boats, including the "Stoney Lake" and the "Modello." One photograph is of a man in a wheatfield--written on verso is "What do you think of this for Western Wheat 10 mi.'s from Regina?" The other photograph written on verso is of a man and an airplane--"Douglas Lindsay out on the Sask. River Jan. 15 / 36 at Prince Albert where the fish bask from Leechee (sp?) Rouge is situated."

Tan envelopes are printed in black with "B. Frank Stewart, Kodaks and Amateur Supplies, Orillia, Ontario." Most of the photographs are undated snapshots of unidentified individuals and groups posed indoors and out, and images of farm animals, buildings, Niagara Falls and landscapes. Two photographs are dated on verso as "Sept. 1919", and "Jan. 1921." Four photographs are written in ink on verso "Jim Ross and Watson Matheson", "Catherine Ann (McFayden) Wallace", "Bolsover Sunday School Picnic", "Hugh McIntyre and family members."

Print is captioned "Motherhood." It depicts a woman in a white fur-trimmed robe holding an infant in a white blanket. On verso, the work is identified as a Glaxo Baby Book advertisement. The envelope is addressed, Canadian-stamped, and cancelled.

154 photographs affixed to 24 black paper pages, 11 loose prints--the album cover itself is absent. The photographs have primarily vernacular images: snapshots of individuals and small groups, individual and group portraits, vacation scenes. Captions and dates are in white pencil: "1929," "Pt. Stanley 1937," "Wingham 1937," "Cub Camp 1939," "Churchill 1940-1," "Lake Joseph," and "Natural Park." On the verso of one photograph is partially written "Dear Gertrude,-This is a picture...of our new home...Mildr(ed?)" A truck is shown painted with "...S TAXI CABS, 2400 CHATHAM." A boat is shown painted with "The 100 Mile Cruiser To NATURAL PARK, SAGAMO." A park entrance gate made of tree branches spells out "CAMP TINAWATAWA, YWCA, YMCA." Only Dick Gossett, Alan Pride, Bill McMillan, Duncan Wallace, and Minnie (Wallace) Owens are identified. One photograph of young men is entitled "Bolsover Flirts."

A design of a bird with a branch of a tree at bottom centre between the text. Photograph is a full length portrait of three children, a girl and two boys. The boy in the centre wears a plaid skirt and embroidered jacket, while the other wears a dark ribbon-trimmed dress with wide lace collar. The girl also wears a wide lace collar over her embroidered dress. They are seated on upholstered stools in front of a studio interior.
