On verso, lithographed celtic interlace border design with the design of a crest with a maple leaf in the centre, and the letters "G" "C"and "A"intertwined. Below, "G. C. ARLESS/ Photographer/ MONTREAL/ Wm Galt. Lith." Handwritten in black ink at top, "Aug 1889".

Item is a pink card with photograph of a woman in striped blouse and white scarf. The image has an oval shape, visible at the corners of the photograph, but the photograph has been cropped in. It was probably meant for a larger, possibly cabinet card mount, but the woman's style of dress is still close in date to the mount style, about mid-1880s.
