Kodak commercial advertising photographs

Commerical photographs: one still life of a tea set, one advertising a fisher price camera for children - the image is of three children (two boys and a girl) and a note with the photograph reads "Put a camera in the hands of children and sharpen your own view of the world. The Fisher-Price camera was designed for younsters in the five-to-eight-year-old group". Four are head shots of a young man wth a mohawk. Two are of Grey Line red double decker buses with Kodak advertising on the side of the buses. Two are studio shots of Kodak cameras with boxes of Kodak film. One is of men in the middle of a soccer game, this photograph includes a note that reads "Participants in the 1986 Kodak 'Run for the Money' color reporduction contest will be working from this colorful sports action photo in their attempts to accurately reproduce the image for the ninth annual Kodak 'Run for the Money." Other images are still lifes of coloured umbrellas, chalk, and casino lights taken at night. As well as two commercial 'beauty' shots of two women.

Kodak Canada In Focus snapshots of promotional material

File contains snapshots with white borders and straight edges featuring images of Kodak promotional materials, such as a Kodak ski hat, a cooler printed to look like a 35 mm film box, a towel that reads "Kodak film", a Kodak bag with film logo, and a Kodak beach seat pillow. Adhered to versos of photographs are stickers that indicate what the subject info, page number, date and issue of Kodak Canada In Focus that they are to appear in. All in file belong to Kodak Canada In Focus June 1979 Vol. 25 No. 5.

Posters and Signage

Series contains posters and signs from Kodak Canada Ltd. Most posters are reproductions of the original Eastman Kodak advertisements on foamcore boards for the purposes of display in the Kodak Heritage Museum. Objects originally intended for the Kodak Heritage Museum have been indicated in the notes field of the record. Subjects include: promotional posters from Kodak's The Techniques of the Masters Videoconference Series, advertising campaigns and Kodak slogans printed on posters, historical images of Kodak cameras, and medical imaging posters from the Health Sciences Division of Eastman Kodak Company. Also included are a group of large-scale foamcore posters of Kodak Heights operations reproduced from glass plate negatives in the collection.

Grey plastic 16cm ruler with "Kodak Law Enforcement Workshop" printed on the back. Rochester's Eastman Kodak company began running a Law Enforcement Workshop in it's Marketing Education Centre in 1954. Law enforcement officials would learn the application of photography for law encforcement including basic printing and processing, surveillance hardware and techniques, cime laboratory techniques, motoin picture and radiography applications.

The Kodak Canada collection contains records and artifacts from the Kodak Heights manufacturing facility in Toronto, as well as the historical collection belonging to the Kodak Heritage Collection Museum. The collection consists of photographs, negatives, advertising records, magazines, pamphlets, daily record books, recipe books, cameras and other photographic equipment produced by Kodak Canada Inc., or other Kodak plants around the world. The collection includes a small selection of financial records, blueprints for Kodak facilities in Canada, and other corporate ephemera, as well as photographs of events, buildings and individual employees that illustrate the social life of the company.

Item consists of a portrait board poster featuring a large colour image of a photograph of a landscape of birch trees and a lake, which is continued with a black and white contour drawing. Beside the image reads "Look at what Kodacolor Film can do for your snapshots!", beneath the image is another image of a yellow box of Kodacolor film beside a Brownie Hawkeye camera, and text that reads "With Kodacolor Film you can take beautiful color snapshots like this with your camera".

"Pictures taken with Kodaks" (wooden folding advertisement)

Item consists of a standing, yellow painted wooden, 4-section frame containing 16 photographs taken with Kodak cameras and printed on Kodak papers. Each image lists the camera that was used to take the photograph, along with the name of the paper it was printed on. Cameras include Baby Brownie, Six-20 Duo, Six-20 Junior, Six-16 Kodak, the Retina, and the Jiffy Kodak VP.

Item is a ledger containing newspaper clippings from 1913 to 1921 pertaining to a variety of aspects of Kodak's operations. Despite its content, the item appears to have been compiled by Kodak as its first "advertising ledger." These ledgers, containing clippings and proofs of Kodak's advertising of a variety of products, likely evolved in content and format from this first ledger.

Advertising proofs binder

Item contains advertising proofs created for Kodak Canada Ltd., by The Baker Advertising Agency Ltd. in 1927, as well as a list of newspapers advertisements where the ads were published, and select rotogravure newspaper clippings of sections containing the Kodak advertisements. Most of the advertisements relate to the Cine-Kodak Amateur film camera, which had recently been introduced in 1923.
