The case was the result of a lawsuit by Berkey Photo, a photo processing and equipment manufacturing company. The suit claimed that Kodak had a monopoly and violated the Sherman Antitrust Act. Berkey won damages of $112.8 million but this decision was reversed on appeal in 1979.
